The new Krishnamurti Education Center will be able to accommodate a variety of programs, but sponsorships are needed to keep them affordable and available. This year, with funding, we will be able to do the following:

Summer Programs at the new Krishnamurti Education Center in Ojai

1.      Nine-Day Residential Program for Adults and College Students: exploring how mind shapes its world and inquiring into the meaning of freedom from the known.

2.      Nine-Day Intensive, "The Ending of Time": based on the themes explored in the dialogues between Krishnamurti and David Bohm. Suitable for adults and college students either as a continuation program, or as a stand-alone intensive.

3.      Two-Week Teacher's Academy: a residential program for new or experienced educators, exploring Krishnamurti's revolutionary approach to education.

4.      Theme weekend retreats for dialogue and study.

Sponsorships provide a necessary partnership and give us an opportunity to meet our special friends by offering free participation in our programs.

The Krishnamurti Education Center has the capacity to be active all year long with these kinds of contemplative programs. Because our ability to cover costs is reduced drastically by the current economic downturn, sponsorships are needed.

We know our donors give for the mission – to make Krishnamurti’s work known around the world and to share it with others in a living, dynamic way.  In addition, we would like to offer a gesture of appreciation for the significant help that sponsorships can give.  Complimentary participation in any of the intensives is an option for sponsors giving at the $10,000 level.  Complimentary participation in a Theme Weekend Dialogue Retreat is an option for sponsorship at the $5,000 level.

Adult Summer Study Retreat Program

 "I found the Krishnamurti Adult Summer Study-Intensive & Retreat Program invaluable as a place to have a prolonged investigation into not just the teachings, but as a mirror to see the actual depth of my own understanding of them. Through a careful inquiry that was fostered by the facilitators, and a slowing down of the mind's need to understand, a field of insight could emerge. "There was a tremendous sense of freedom in those two weeks - freedom to explore oneself and human relationship, without compulsion, without pressure or coercion in any form.  One could speak with whomever one pleased about any topic one felt compelled to discuss - subjects that are often suppressed or shied away from in normal conversation were treated with an amazing sense of openness.  Suffering, sex, loneliness, isolation, order, fear, reality, personality, selfishness, along with a healthy serving of humor, were feasted upon by all minds, both in dialogs and personal relationships.  The ground on which I thought I stood, the experiences that hitherto held so much energy and made up what we might call my self-image, faded away in listening to the similarities of everyone's stories ...  The necessity, the difficulty, and the beauty of human relationship were all shown to you on a daily basis.  The exquisite grandeur of the valley - the magnificent mountains, the infinite variety and beauty of plants and flora - as well as the quality of human beings and sense of freedom that the program offers bring a feeling of freshness into life that makes one wonder why one's day-to-day living cannot be as varied, as stimulating, as intimate, as deep and affectionate as the precious two weeks in Ojai were."

Teacher’s Academy

 “For me personally, the Academy came at a pivotal time as a month later I started a masters program in educational reform and social justice. I am integrating much of what I learned into my thesis project. I am grateful to everyone who co-created those intensive three weeks, and for the wisdom of Krishnamurti's teachings. Our current public education system is failing students in that it does not prepare them to be creative free thinkers. In many aspects it is outdated and needs to change. It is my belief that what Krishnamurti offers us is the catalyst for that change. I want to personally thank those who are working to preserve these teaching which are vital to present and future generations.”
