The Krishnamurti Foundation of America (KFA) was founded as a 501c3 in 1969. Our Tax ID # is 23-7018406. Our founder was Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986), an educator, philosopher and author with a life-time body of work covering six decades. The KFA operates a publishing company to disseminate Krishnamurti’s work, and also operates Oak Grove School in Ojai, a pre-K through grade 12 private school founded by Krishnamurti in 1975. Oak Grove School is fully accredited and high school students graduate to the nation’s finest universities and colleges. Acceptances regularly include Yale, Harvard, University of California, Boston, Brown and Stanford Universities, and many more.
Purpose
The Krishnamurti Foundation of America exists to provide educational programs and resources that explore the deeper meaning of learning, understanding, intelligence, and freedom in human consciousness.
· J. Krishnamurti's lifetime body of work is the foundational pedagogic resource.
· Oak Grove School (pre-K through 12) explores education of the whole child through inquiry and observation, not competition, specialization, and conformity.
· Krishnamurti Publications provides the public with books, CDs, DVDs, and free internet downloads, all exploring the psychology of being human and what Krishnamurti called the art of living.
· The Krishnamurti Study Center offers long and short-term residential programs for adults, college students, teachers and professionals who are interested in the transformation of human consciousness.
